Overall management of the administration of the German School Hurghada

To support the elementary school we are looking for a new colleague starting in August 2022.

Assignment in classes 1 – 4 / possibly also classes 5 and 6.

Job profile

  • Classroom management and teaching in the primary level, possibly also in grades 5 and 6

Requirements
You will teach students with different backgrounds from first to fourth, possibly sixth grade. You will work with the students on the subject matter in all subjects or only in certain subjects. Accordingly, you will lead a class independently or work as part of a team of teachers.

  • 1st and 2nd state exams for primary education, or comparable degrees from Austria or Swiss recognized titles “dipl. Lehrer/in für die Primarstufe (EDK)” as well as “Bachelor of Arts in Primary Education”.
  • Experience in DaF is an advantage, but not a prerequisite.

About the DSH
The German School Hurghada, as a recognized German school abroad supported by the ZfA, leads to the German Sek I degree after grade 10 and prepares students for the GIB (Gemischtsprachiges International Baccalaureate) in grades 11 and 12. DSH is one of 35 German schools abroad authorized by IBO and KMK to offer the two-year Diploma Program, which enables students to study in Germany, the USA and 140 other countries.

DSH is looking for an IB Coordinator for the school year 2022/23 ideally with teaching qualification in English and/or German/History

Job Profile:

  • The IB Coordinator will be responsible for the implementation of the IB Diploma Program.
  • The position will start as soon as possible.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Linking all IB subjects
  • Record / document communications, forms, documents and reports.
  • Ensure appropriate textbooks, resources and facilities are available (e.g. book ordering)
  • Comply with IB regulations (DP – Handbook published procedures, supplemented by IB Coordinator Notes).
  • Communicate with the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO), International Baccalaureate Curriculum and Assessment Center (IBCA).
  • Independently coordinate departments regarding the quality of instructional development especially in the realization of IBO framework curricula, IBO performance assessment and evaluation.
  • Recording and coordination of further training needs, collaboration in further training planning
  • Coordination of performance feedback to parents and students
  • Teaching in the lower and higher secondary school, primarily in grades 11 and 12.
  • Participation in school design and development
