Firts PASCH video competition in Egypt

“Together. Now. For the future.” – this was the motto of the first PASCH video competition for grades 4 to 6 in Egypt this year. In the run-up to the 27th UN Climate Change Conference (COP 27), which took place in Sharm el-Sheikh in November, creative short clips were required to show the climate protection commitment of the respective class.

Class 5 of the DSH participated in the competition with class teacher Christiane Sommer-Becker. The class produced three films in record time. In this school year, the DSH has a complete video equipment with camera, microphone and cutting laptop, which is available and can be used.

Creativity and originality counted for the jury
The work paid off: the film made by the group consisting of Mahmoud, Rasan, Jana and Momo was awarded second place by the jury. In their films, the Grade 5 students present in an entertaining and educational way how to save water and energy in everyday life and thus conserve resources.

For the jury, the criteria included originality, creative ideas, personal achievement and appropriate use of the German language.

Winners go to Cairo
A great trip to Cairo awaits the winning group. Here they will visit the “VeryNile” project and take part in an upcycling workshop. The group will also visit the German Embassy, where the award ceremony for the competition will take place.
