“Visionäre”: DSH students awarded for film project

ZfA-sponsored pilot project on the topic of "Tolerance and Responsibility

The students of the former class 7 participated in the “Visionäre” film competition of the Central Agency for Schools Abroad with a self-produced film and received much praise and recognition for it.

“Visionäre” is a pilot project sponsored by the Central Agency for Schools Abroad (ZfA) using the medium of film. The aim was to create films on the topic of “Tolerance and Responsibility.”

“Actually, the competition was announced for grades 10 and up, but we found the topic so exciting that we took part anyway,” explains supervising teacher Christiane Sommer-Becker. “That’s why we could only take part out of competition, but we are very proud that we received a lot of praise and appreciative comments from the jury. For us, it was mainly about approaching the medium of film, practicing and gaining experience.”

First “Visionäre” film award to be presented in Helsinki

Through the medium of film, it is hoped to promote exchange among students, German language skills, media literacy, and networking among schools abroad. Further training courses on the topic were held for teachers and students. All films submitted by the schools were evaluated by a jury. At the end of September, a team of experts awarded the first Visionaries Film Prize in Helsinki. During this award ceremony, DS Hurghada and the commitment of our students were highlighted.
