Talents from 10 schools compete against each other At the end of November, the DSH organised the supra-regional debating competition for German schools abroad in the Africa region. Positive Feedback for DSH From November 14 to 16, Dr. Marcus Schawe, Regional Representative of the Central Agency for Schools Abroad, was a guest at the German School in Hurghada. Successful student exchange

Cultural exchange with learning effect At the end of September, 17 students of the Johannes-Althusius-High-School from Emden, Germany, came to the DSH. This was the second time that the student exchange between our partner school in Germany and our school took place. Like last year, the guest students were accommodated for eleven days with families of our students of grades 9 and 10 and participated in the lessons of the DSH. DSH student wins trip to Germany

Scholarship from the Educational Exchange Service Karim Mahram from Class 10 has won one of a few scholarships for a four-week stay abroad in Germany. The scholarships are awarded by the Educational Exchange Service of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs in Germany as part of a international program. Karim's win makes him part of a group of international students from German schools abroad. During their stay in Germany, the group will visit the cities of Bonn, Cologne, Berlin and Munich. Reading competition at DSH In this year's DSH reading competition, the best readers of grades 6 and 7 were determined. In the competition, the class winners from grades 6 and 7 competed in two categories ("German as a Foreign Language" (DaF) and "German as a Mother Tongue" (DaM)). Class 7 awarded for sustainability project Cultural attaché Felix Haala from the German Embassy Cairo visited the DS Hurghada on February 16, 2023. Games worth around 1,000 euros Thanks to the commitment of German teacher Christiane Sommer-Becker, the DSH has won a box full of games worth around 1,000 euros. These include numerous board games for all ages as well as a Playmobil set and a Märklin train set. This makes DSH one of 202 winning schools in the "Spielen macht Schule" initiative. In order to promote playing, the German "Spielen macht Schule" initiative raffles off games equipment every year.
